Jon Bon Jovi has teamed up with the Middleton Partnership out of Philadelphia to build a low-income housing community named JBJ Soul Homes that will be managed by Project Home, an organization devoted to providing comprehensive and effective services to persons who experience chronic homelessness. The project includes a a four-story mixed-use development along with retail, offices and 55 apartment units. In addition to providing affordable housing to those in need, Project Home will assist residents with a variety of services, including a health initiative program, behavioral health and personal recovery services. This is great example of a community coming together to help those in need and the value of effective health and human services. On a side note, I had the great fortune during my time in Philadelphia of becoming friends with John P. Middleton, son of John and Leigh Middleton, founders of the Middleton Partnership. I have always been amazed how dedicated to philanthropic work their family is and continues to be, and I am proud to call John a friend.
