A few days ago, the New York times published an article about the increase in falls across the nation. I am particularly fond of this article for the simulation of how ordinary scenarios like stairs or toilet seats become a fall hazard through short clips that show what these might look like to a resident with yellowing vision, cataracts, or glaucoma. Link to the full article above.
What are innovative steps your organization has taken to prevent and respond to falls? How do you balance resident's rights and freedom with safety precautions in preventing falls?
