The Event Session Approval feature allows Administrators, Instructors and Supervisors with Enrollment Management to approve which users will be scheduled for an event session. 
To set up an event session with approval required, search for the event from the Course List, and then go to the Sessions tab.  Select the session you would like to work with and check the box for Approval Required.

Learners who register for a session which has approval required will automatically be placed on the wait list. The learners will receive a notice indicating the pending status. We have an email alert that can be turned on in your site. You may then approve the users for the event session by promoting them from the waitlist.

When promoted from the waitlist, the learner can be sent the "Event Waitlist Promotion" email alert if you have it turned on in your site.
