My Learning Tab

The My Learning tab is where Learners can go to do the following things:

  • View their Learning Summary
  • View Assigned and Elective modules (if Electives are enabled for their organization)
  • View Transcript of completed modules.

My Learning Summary

This summary shows Learners their compliance rate of all assigned modules, the average grade received, and the total number of courses taken (broken down by assigned modules and elective modules).  It is important to note that the compliance rate is calculated on all modules assigned to the Learner, not just the modules they have completed.  This means that if they have modules due 2 years from today, they may have a lower compliance percentage because they have not completed those modules yet.   This is also where Learners can Print their Transcript (previously found under the Completed Training tab).

Current Training

The Current Training section is where Learners can go to view their Assigned Courses and Electives (if Electives are enabled for their organization's account).

 

Assigned Courses

  • P&P Binders will always display at the top of the list in Training Plan view, but P&P modules will show in due date order in the Course view.
  • Modules that are overdue show at the top with the word OVERDUE in all caps, and will have a red backdrop

  • Other courses whose due dates have not passed will display with the due date beside the course name
    • Courses within their warning period will have a yellow backdrop

  • The Take Now or Show Details buttons will let Learners view or open the modules.

The following image shows what a module looks like when Learners select the Take Now button. Lesson and Exams and Evaluation and Certificates are listed in the left column. In the right column learners will see their licenses and certifications that they have added as well as the Available Certificates that course offers.

Elective Modules
Electives are optional courses that Learners can select for self-enrollment.  Electives do not come with due dates, and because they are optional, enable Learners to withdraw without penalty.

Browsing for Electives

In order to sign up for electives, go to My Learning > + Browse Elective Courses.  This will bring Learners to a new page with standard filter options for finding modules.  To see more information about a specific module, simply click on the title of the course.

This will enable Learners to see any certificates that may be attached to this module, the credit hours associated, the description, the learning objectives, and other information.

If they click on the < Back to All Courses button at the top of the screen to be taken back to the list of electives.  Once Learners have found the module(s) they wish to take (perhaps using the filters at the top of the page), they should click Enroll to the right of the module(s).

Once they have clicked Enroll, they should see a message confirming the action.

Clicking on the Back to My Learning button will enable Learners to see the Electives (as well as any other assigned courses) they have just selected.  They can click the Take Now to open the module and complete it.

External Training

This feature may not be enabled for all sites, so some Learners may not be able to see this tab.

External Training allows Learners to add future training requests, or to enter completed trainings that may have taken place outside of the RLMS.

 

Completed External Training
They should click on the + Add Completed Training button to add a record of a completed external training.

They will need to fill out the following fields:

  • Course Title
    • There may be a list of Administrator-created external trainings that contain default information for all Learners.
      • The default information cannot be edited.
      • If they choose a default template, then choose Other, the default fields will still remain, but can be edited/removed.
    • If there is not a default list, or if the external training they wish to enter is not in the list yet, they can choose Other to enter the training’s details from scratch.
  • Start Date (the date training began)
  • Completed date (the date training ended)
  • Exam Score % (optional)
  • Location (optional)
  • Credit Hours (how long this course/training took)
  • Cost (optional)
  • Purpose (optional)
  • Add Certificate to Upload
    • If the venue/host of the training provided a certificate of completion, or any CE certificates, Learners can upload proof of completion to this training.
  • Click Submit when finished.

Depending on the rules/settings of the Learners' sites, they may be able to submit completions without needing any approval. If this is not the case, their submitted training will appear as Pending Approval (as seen in the image below).  If their Supervisor or Admin approves the training, it will move to their Transcript (formerly the Completed Training tab).  If the training is rejected, it will show as Rejected on the External Training tab.

Future Training Request:

This feature may not be enabled for all sites, so some Learners may not be able to see this. Future training will allow Learners to submit requests for attending an external training.  To begin, they should click on + Add Future Training.

Then, fill out the following fields:

  • Course Title
    • There may be a list of Administrator-created external trainings that contain default information for all Learners.
      • The default information cannot be edited.
      • If they choose a default template, then choose Other, the default fields will still remain, but can be edited/removed.
    • If there is not a default list, or if the external training they wish to enter is not in the list yet, they can choose Other to enter the training’s details from scratch.
  • Start Date (the date training begins)
  • Estimated Completion Date (the date the training is scheduled to end – Optional)
  • Location (optional)
  • Credit Hours (how long this course/training took)
  • Cost (optional)
  • Purpose (optional)
  • Add Certificate to Upload (not needed at this point)
  • Click Submit

Depending on the rules/settings of the Learners' sites, they may be able to submit requests without needing any approval.  If this is not the case, their submitted training will appear as Pending Approval until their Administrator or Supervisor approves it.

Transcript

The Transcript is where Learners can go to do the following items:

  • View module completions
  • Print certificates for completed modules
  • Review content of completed courses.
    • You can also use filters to narrow down completions/modules by date, module type, or licenses/certifications.  

 

The ability to print the transcript can be found on the under the My Learning Summary on the left side of the screen.
