Rack your brain

As a nurse, I can say that I've hit road blocks with patients daily. What do I mean? Someone has wounds that will not heal, no matter what you do. You have a patient that will not take their meds. What about that patient that will not eat? Or the one that has an infection that just wont go away? We see these things and more on a daily basis. We rack our brains all shift long, even after our shift ends, to try to come up with a solution to the conundrum of the day, week, or month. It seems that we try everything we can think of and it just wont work. It seems we think inside, outside, beside, above and below the box. When that does not work, we turn to the next 3D object. Then, when all hope is lost, something works! (usually the first thing you tried 6 months ago.) So the little gears just keep turning. Sometimes smoke just rolls out of our ears! One thing I can say about us is we are a tenatious lot.
